A growing network of rural health centers is expanding across eastern Kentucky, aiming to close a stubborn gap in access to primary care in the mountains.
The expansion adds telehealth services and mobile units designed to reach patients in counties where the nearest hospital can be more than an hour away.
Health officials called the effort a critical step in addressing chronic disease and improving outcomes in the region.
